Bridge, opera house and beach days

After hearing about Australia's poor summer this year, our weather expectations were fairly low when flying into Sydney. Before starting to explore the city we felt very lucky to able to spend two hot and sunny days at the beach.

In Sydney we stayed with Erika's former student Samantha and her family. They live within the northern beaches of Sydney and showed us their favorite beach spots.

After our two beach days it was time to see what the city was all about. The two highlights were a tour of the opera house and climbing the Sydney harbor bridge (see separate post). The city's waterfront is just as remarkable as what you see in postcards and pictures.
