Joshua Tree National Park

A number of artists and painters have found inspiration in this region. Most famous is probably U2 that named one of their albums after the Joshua tree.

The Joshua Tree itself was named by early missionaries who thought the tree looked like the prophet Joshua with his arms reaching for the sky.

Even though we had spent the last few days in a number of different desserts, Joshua Tree National Park was beautiful in it's own way. Fascinating rock formations among "fields" of Joshua trees. The contrast between the grey smooth rock and the green rugged trees made it feel like we had entered a different planet.
