Costa Rica

After several months in the English speaking world, Costa Rica was our first Spanish speaking destination.

Costa Rica has a tremendous biodiversity because of it's location and high mountain peaks. The mountains and the location in the tropics between two great oceans have created a perfect climate for many species and jungles. There are 850 different species recorded in Costa Rica.

We went to Costa Rica to visit Pär's host sister Gioconda. In 1993/94 she was an exchange student in Sweden and lived with Pär's family for a year.

Already on our second day we started exploring the rain forest. We went on an open gondola that took us through the canopy on three different levels of the forest. During the ride we spotted our first sleeping sloth, snakes and humming birds.
